Amrita Devi
At the heart of our teachings is our founder, Amrita Devi—a woman who has walked many paths, traveling this beautiful planet in search of truth. She has spent many years studying with Hindu and Tibetan spiritual teachers, delving into yogic, Buddhist, and tantric traditions. Her academic journey led her to graduate in Art and complete a master’s degree with honors in Art and Archeology at SOAS Oriental and African Studies, University of London. From a very early age, she had numerous and inexplicable deep mystical experiences that directed her attention to the more subtle aspects of daily life.
Born in London, she grew up in Scotland and then settled and started her family in northern Argentina, in the foothills of the Andes. She is an actress, poet, dancer, inspired by music and the arts, healing, and culture. Her love for nature led her to acquire land on the Iktara estate, in the high mountains of Argentina, where they cultivate organic honey and offer a retreat center to seekers of all paths. She founded the Somos Uno charity for children and adults in vulnerable situations. Her philosophy is that yoga is a tool for social change and that it should be accessible to all.
Her path has taken her around the world, teaching and sharing her gifts with countless souls from many countries. She is known as a highly intuitive teacher, with a profound transmission and a generous heart.
She has currently decided to move to northern Brazil to make a life away from the modern world, immersed in the jungle, on an island where there are no cars and coconuts and mangoes abound!
